Shipping and Receiving Clerk – $20 – $22.50 an hour! – Charlotte, NC

This role:

• $20.00 – $22.50 an hour with overtime after 40 hours
• Monday – Friday

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate shipping and customer delivery activities from the company’s shipping dock
• Direct over-the-road truck drivers and drawing on outside transportation vendors as needed
• Obtaining optimum freight rates
• Handling of less-than truckload (LTL) shipments, etc
• Responsible for the accurate receiving and documentation of all received shipments

Key Tasks:

Shipping

Maintains communication and teamwork among staff to identify missing components or paperwork necessary to ensure successful shipments
Ensures correct packaging, prep of goods for safe transit in minimizing damage.
Packages orders for out-of-town shipments ensuring correct labeling procedures are followed.
Prepares bill of lading for shipment to customers, obtaining optimum freight rates, handling of less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments, etc

Receiving

• Receives shipments and enters in the computer, then, provides correct physical inventory placement.
• Supervises forklift truck deliveries of finished goods. Trains and certifies forklift operators
• Checks count of returned products from customers and advises Purchasing Department of returned goods
• Handles return shipments to manufacturer for repairs or replacement

Other

• Handles paperwork flow with extreme accuracy, according to established procedures
• Operates the warehouse forklift and perform various material handling duties
• Adheres to Shop rules and regulations
• Performs such other duties as may be assigned

Requirements:

• Valid Drivers license
• No violent offenses on background
• Able to withstand heights
• Able to withstand working outside
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report
• Knowledge of truck freight rates
• Experience with UPS WorldShip Software
• Manufacturing/fabrication experience
• Forklift Operator
• Windows / Outlook / Parts & Vendors / Dynamics / Access
• Organized
• Works to deadlines
